The Candylicious brand thrives on a visual identity that is fun, playful, and emotionally uplifting. The design brief called for a ceiling that evoked that same energy — flowing shapes and soft curves that would appear to ripple across the space, much like the swirl of candies in motion.

To bring this concept to life, NEXTOP’s engineering team collaborated closely with the client’s designers to translate freeform sketches into structural geometry.
Through 3D modeling and mock-up validation, we ensured that every curve could be fabricated precisely without losing the dynamic sense of movement.

The highlight of the design was its custom gradient color scheme — a vivid blend of pink, orange, and purple tones that shift smoothly across the ceiling panels, creating a lively transition of hues under retail lighting. This chromatic progression enhances depth and energy, making the ceiling appear alive and constantly changing from different viewing angles.

Engineering & Material Innovation

Structurally, the ceiling required a design that balanced lightweight construction with durability.
NEXTOP utilized high-grade aluminum panels supported by a concealed stainless steel frame, ensuring rigidity while keeping the overall weight suitable for large-span retail ceilings.

Each segment was CNC-cut and bent with millimeter-level precision, forming the organic contours envisioned in the original concept.
The modular approach allowed for efficient transportation, easy alignment on-site, and seamless integration with lighting and HVAC systems within the mall’s infrastructure.

Surface Finishing: Gradient Beauty with Enduring Strength

To recreate the brand’s joyful color palette, NEXTOP’s surface finishing specialists developed a multi-layer powder coating process capable of achieving the pink–orange–purple gradient without visible transitions.
This required precise temperature control, electrostatic spraying, and manual blending techniques — ensuring that each panel carried the same smooth color flow and tonal depth.

The finish was sealed with a UV-resistant clear coat, providing long-term color retention and scratch resistance under constant mall lighting.
Beyond visual appeal, this surface treatment also contributes to the ceiling’s corrosion resistance, easy maintenance, and durability, making it as functional as it is artistic.

Fabrication & Quality Control

All fabrication took place in NEXTOP’s in-house production facility, where quality and precision could be tightly managed.
Each panel was cut, welded, and shaped following detailed shop drawings and then assembled in a full-scale mock-up to verify alignment and color continuity.

During production, the engineering team conducted strict inspections at every stage — from structural welding quality to surface texture consistency — ensuring that each element met international safety and aesthetic standards before packaging and export.

While NEXTOP was not involved in the physical installation on-site, we provided comprehensive technical support, including 3D assembly guides, connection details, and real-time coordination with the installation contractors in Bahrain. This ensured flawless integration between ceiling modules and in-store lighting fixtures.
